Shell, Access Bank, JBN and others Commit to take HIV and AIDS Response Support to the Next Level |

The visit of UNAIDS Director Michel Sidibe and US Global AIDS Coordinator Ambassador Eric Goosby provided a forum for the Nigerian private sector to share views on the HIV and AIDS response in Nigeria.  Shell MD speaks at the event Mutiu Sunmonu, Country Chair Shell Companies in Nigeria and Managing Director Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) stated the company's position of non-discrimanation by not requiring HIV status in recruitment process while highlighting the oil giant's various interventions at helping those infected and affected by the virus.

In his contribution at the event, MD/CEO Access Bank Plc, Mr Aig Imokhuede said the private sector needs to seek innovative ways to address the challenge that HIV and AIDS poses and that he will be glad when a high profile meeting such as this draws a room full of MDs and CEOs. Julius Berger Nigeria (JBN) through the Chairman's representative at the event brought to the fore the company's sound HIV and AIDS workplace policy as Nigeria's largest private-sector employer.
