The film Sara’s Choice produced by BBC World Service Trust and supported by NACA was formally presented to the Director General of NACA Professor John Idoko at NACA board room by a team from the BCC World Service Trust led by Linda Nwoke.
The DG NACA in his words said the partnership between NACA and BCC World Service Trust is very significant bearing in mind how much BCC World Service Trust can help in the prevention of HIV/AIDS. He said at the moment their is big imbalance between treatment and prevention, due to the concentration of intervention services in the urban centers and leaving the rural area where most Nigerians resides. The DG NACA, professor Idoko further said that NACA is focusing on Combination Prevention and also want to develop Behavior Change Communication Messages that will be understood at every level including the rural communities. He said BCC World Service Trust is a Sub recipient to NACA in the Global Fund Round 9 project with focus on Behavior Change Communication.
In her response Linda Nwoke said it a golden privilege to have partnered with NACA and BCC World Trust Service will continue to use every medium available to promote the prevention and behavior change in the area of HIV/AIDS. She said the film ‘Sara’s Choice’ was fallout of a 52 episode radio and television series and research had shown that it actually contributes to behavior change among Nigerian Youth. She later formally handed over copies of the film ‘Sara’s Choice’.
The DG NACA thanked BCC World Service Trust and charged them to prepare ahead of the Global Fund Round 9 project to ensure that the targets are met.
